Day 10 - Does an Offline Reputation Build Like an Online One?
Having written an Amazon bestselling book on reputation, I've been wondering if the principles it contains about building a real-world reputation apply to the online world.
To build your reputation and enhance your personal brand in the offline world, you network, you write and you speak.
You get around great people, you put yourself and your messages about.
You deliver great service, develop great skills and learn great wisdom.
In the offline world, things might be different. You write - blogs, comments, tweets, messages and articles.
You share - ideas, music, quotes, slides, pictures.
And er...that's it.
But these rules apply to both online and offline reputation management:
- You've got to have the desire to contribute.
- You've got to have the commitment to keep going.
- You've got to have the audience.
- You've got to have the platform.
- You've got to have the tools.
- You've got to have a clue.
- You've got to have a strategy.
- You've got to have a story worth telling.
- You've got to have a message worth repeating.
- You've got to have an idea worth sharing.
- You've got to believe it works.
I'm working on ticking all of these off. That's what's going to help me build my business and fulfil my goals in this 90 day experiment. How many can you tick?
