Day 7 - Who Needs an Online Reputation?
You've heard it said that doing more of what you've done gets you more of what you've got.
In today's tough economic times, few people can afford to sit back and be complacent with their lot. If you're like most people, you're looking for that edge, that little bit more market share, that enhanced profile, that greater cashflow, that fuller pipeline, those more lucrative opportunities, those higher quality and more abundant referrals and that greater reputation amongst those people you want to impress and do business with.
If that's you, then I'm just like you. Which is why I'm conducting this 90 day experiment to build an online reputation from virtually using social media.
It's a full week since I started. One week ago I had a minimal online profile. Sure, I had a half-decent offline profile, but it wasn't enough. Indeed, being a 'so-called' reputation expert means that I should have some expertise in the online realm, and I hadn't.
So a week down and where am I? Well, just like the above image (source here) I'm building an online identity in various well-chosen places. As a result, I'm hoping my good name and reputation becomes more visible, more credible and more 'bookable'.
I'm sure it's happening, but I'm not sure. Important thing is that I believe in the process and I know it's going to happen. It's no good being the best kept secret in the world!
In the next seven days I'm going to share with you the google analytics data on hits to my website and visits to my blog as a result of this experiment. Then we'll see if it's really working!
